Socioeconomic Status

A report said that poverty-stricken areas had a greater chance of a major outbreak of coronavirus than ones with a higher socioeconomic status.

A study conducted in New York State proved the point. The lower one’s income the more likely they were to contract the virus, as there are more confirmed cases in zip codes where the average income is lower compared to zipcodes where income is higher. There were  40,000 confirmed cases for people in the lowest socioeconomic class whereas, in the highest socioeconomic class, there were only roughly 14,000 confirmed cases.
