Social Distancing

The longer we socially distance, the slower the virus spreads. A study found that without taking these precautions, the spread could have been up to 35 times greater. The same study also found that social distancing reducing the daily growth rate by:

5.4% after 1-5 days

6.8% after 6–10 days

8.2% after 11–15 days

9.1% after 16–20 days

Social distancing slows the spread. It results in a fewer number of cases, and the number of cases stays below the healthcare system capacity. Without it, too many people get the virus too quickly and it can damage the healthcare system and lead to more lives being lost

The less contact you have with others, the fewer people the virus spreads to. With everyone socially distancing, the numbers will decrease significantly.
